Ash is sitting under a leafless tree in Lost July, looking at the graveyard. She was wearing her full outfit (from her picture), feeling like it would be disrespectful to wear just a shirt and underwear so close to a graveyard. In her arms was a stray kitten that had been rather starved before she found it a few days ago. Now it was well-fed, and seemed very well-groomed. She didn't blink as she looked at the cemetary... "Creepy... I wonder what happenned here..."

Wolfwood hated it here. Lost July was a ruined city, a place he'd never wanted to go to if he could avoid it, but apparently Midvalley couldn't drag his ass all the way out to November, but July should do just fine. 'Stupid saxaphone playing jackass.' He thought with a bitter sigh, flicking a cigarette butt into the sand as he slid off his motorcycle. Player was nowhere in sight, but a girl spending time in one of the cemetaries was.

Ash heard Wolfwood from her spot under the tree, and watched as the kitten ran off. She sighed, then rose to her feet and turned to the Wandering Priest. "Hey... I'm Ash," she said as she approached him. "What's your name? And what're you doing here... wait. Would you happen to know what happenned here?" She extended a hand for him to shake, keeping a peaceful eye-contact with Wolfwood.

"...Wolfwood." He responded, a little hesitant as always. He rarely, if ever, gave out his first name. The way he looked at it, if people wanted to know, they would ask. Wolfwood avoided the second question, shrugging a little as he took off his sun glasses and stared at the woman who said her name was Ash, accepting the hand. "...Vash the Stampede happened, that's what."

Ash figured he meant Wolfwood was his first name... "Vash the Stampede? Wonder what he did... Well, it wasn't Knives, then..." she shrugged. "Wouldn't have helped anyway... seeing as it's not recent enough to use for tracking him down." She noticed he avoided the second question, but just shrugged it off. If he didn't feel like telling, he didn't feel like telling. She noticed him staring, and tilted her head... "Why're you staring?"

Wolfwood stared, a little lost on what exactly she was talking about. He did, however, catch the name 'Knives' in there somewhere. "...How do you know about him?" He asked quietly, watching her from behind dark bangs. "I'm a little confused as to why a girl like yourself is here, alone, in an abandoned city. That's all."

She was getting a little annoyed at how he kept staring at her, but only a little. "I'm an orphan... the person who was taking care of me went to Carcasses... and never came back... When I went to check, I found the name 'Knives' written in blood. That's how I know about him. And I believe that also covers why I'm alone in this place."

"Seems like everyone on this planet becomes an orphanage afte a while. It's just a matter of time." He replied, though he knew of Carcasses all too well. He'd been there himself with Vash, had seen the empty town and the monument, and shuddered despite himself. "Well, you're not going to find him here. This city's been abandoned for over fifty years."

She sighed, then stretched her arms. "I suppose it makes sense when looking at the buildings... But why wouldn't they try to rebuild? Or at least to salvage the materials for reuse?" She yawned, then looked around again.

"Plant was destroyed, and when the plant goes, so does everyone else." He replied, looking out over the ruins. "Or at least, the ones who can leave go. Everyone else is dead and buried."

"Ridiculous... They don't even make an attempt to repair or rebuild the plant.... Some people really are lazy, you know?" She sighed, looking at the graves, "And I bet nobody ever stops by and visits the loved-ones buried here.... Anyway, enough of my ranting... what's done cannot be undone."
